MoneyMate Privacy Policy

Last updated

MoneyMate is built offline-first: every transaction, category, and setting is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Data we collect

None. MoneyMate does not have accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not transmit your financial data anywhere. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising SDK, and no cloud sync built into the app. Nothing you enter — transactions, categories, notes, balances — ever leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself.

Permissions the app requests

  • Storage — to write and read the CSV files you explicitly export or import. MoneyMate only touches files you choose through the system file picker.
  • Biometric / device credential — to unlock the app when you turn on the optional app lock. Your fingerprint or face data is verified by the Android operating system itself; MoneyMate never receives or stores it.
  • Notifications — to show the reminders you schedule for recurring transactions. These are generated and delivered entirely on-device.

Data storage and security

All app data lives in a local SQLite database inside MoneyMate’s private app storage on your device, inaccessible to other apps. Uninstalling the app deletes this data. If you enable app lock, it is enforced by your device’s biometric/PIN hardware before MoneyMate’s UI becomes visible.

Children’s privacy

MoneyMate is a general-purpose personal finance tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If MoneyMate’s data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud backup — this page will be updated and the “last updated” date below will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
