LocatorLab
ActiveA browser extension test automation toolkit — smart form filling, intelligent locator capture with health monitoring, and test recording that generates scripts for Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and WebdriverIO.
The problem
Two small frictions eat a disproportionate amount of test-writing time:
typing test@test.com into the same form for the tenth time today, and
finding a locator that will still work next week instead of one that breaks
the moment a div gets reordered.
What it does
One click fills an entire form with realistic, region-aware data — names, addresses, phone numbers, and dates for India, the US, Europe, and beyond — detected automatically from field labels, placeholders, and names, with keyboard shortcuts and a right-click menu for filling a single field with a specific type. Locator capture goes further than “grab the CSS selector”: it evaluates 10+ locator strategies, tracks locator health over time so a rename in the DOM shows up before a test does, and supports context-aware locators for table rows and list items that most generators get wrong. Recording a session generates ready-to-run scripts with Page Object Model structure, exportable for Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO in several languages.
Where it runs
Ships as a Chrome and Edge extension. Custom field-mapping profiles and industry templates (healthcare, finance, e-commerce, education, logistics) let a team encode their own app’s quirks once and share the profile, rather than every tester rediscovering the same field names.
